Anthony Derrico | Director of Music Education at the Oxford Arts Alliance

Classical Guitarist

A graduate of Lebanon Valley College, and Cecil College, Anthony is an avid teacher, composer, and performer of the classical guitar. Anthony began teaching in 2011 at The State Street Academy of Music in Harrisburg, The Oxford Arts Alliance, and Cecil College. In addition, Anthony is a frequent collaborator with the Midnight Moon Ensemble and the Milburn Stone Memorial Theatre


Hakaan Diker | Guitarist
In addition to teaching guitar at the Oxford Arts Alliance, Hakaan Diker also performs with the Cecil Chamber Orchestra. Over the years, Hakaan has performed in the classical, rock, musical theatre, and jazz idioms, always seeking novel and educational musical opportunities. He will graduate from Cecil College with a.
Associates Degree in Musical Performance in Spring 2013. Hakaan is very excited and honored to share his musical knowledge as a part of the Oxford Arts Alliance. Hakaan, also enjoys photography and winter sports, as
a second profession and hobby, respectively.

 

Colleen Jones | Violinist and Pianist

Colleen is a graduate of West Chester University with a degree and teaching certification in Music Education: Instrumental.  Colleen has been playing string instruments and piano for 13 years, during which time she studied with acclaimed violinists Sylvia Ahramjian, Alessandra Cuffaro, violist Aliza Appel, and cellist Greta Myers.  Colleen has performed with the West Chester Symphony Orchestra, the Newark Symphony Orchestra, the Cecil College Rock Orchestra, the West Chester Chamber Orchestra, and the Midnight Moon Ensemble.  She also has performed numerous weddings with the Greta Myers String Trio in Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.  She hopes to teach strings or general music at the K-12 level and is currently a private teacher of violin, viola, cello, and piano for students of all ages and recently joined the staff of Lincoln University as an associate professor.   She also has a second certification in Math, and enjoys private tutoring of higher-level Math courses. 

 

Serenity Rowland | Vocalist

Mezzo Soprano, Serenity Rowland is accomplished in a broad range ofmusical styles including jazz, musical theatre, classical and contemporary.Currently, she is the vocal coach for the gospel group 'Elevated Praise.'
Serenity will be graduating from Cecil College's voice program in 2013 with her Associates Degree in Voice. At Cecil she has studied voice under June Dickenson-Suh. Serenity has also studied voice under Dr. Allison Everett at Northwest Florida State College, Kyle Gonyea at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, and Dr. Phillip Stevens of Delaware. Serenity frequently performs with Station Players, Cecil College Chamber Choir and is constantly active at the Milburn Stone Theatre as both a performer and director.

Courtney Withee | Vocalist

A recent graduate of Cecil College, Courtney holds an Associate Degree in Voice. While studying under the vocal direction of Soprano June Suh, Courtney performed in a range of productions with the Station Players, Cecil College’s Rock Orchestra, and The American Voice.
