MEMBERS EVENT

One feature of the May 2010 art exhibit, "Artists of the Carlson Trust," was a special Members Event. Members were invited to come to the Gallery on First Thursday to preview the art show and enjoy a discussion about the Carlson Cultural Trust art student award process.

They heard from Richard Beards, standing in for Dan Miller, who is responsible for selecting a student at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts for an annual monetary award. They heard from Ernie and Karen Saniga, who host the students each summer at their home in Lancaster County. They heard from Ediene Ringler, Treasurer of the Carlson Trust, who is responsible for distributing the grant monies. Ediene and Ernie traced the history of the grant awards and talked extensively about Charlie and Lois Carlson. They heard from Lilly Woodworth, one of the featured artists in the show. She said the summer program changed her life in terms of making her art a major function in her life.
