Movies To Talk About
Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 22, at 7 pm for the screening of:
The Oxford Arts Alliance is collaborating with POV, the award-winning independent non-fiction film series on PBS www.pbs.org/pov to show this visually stunning, thought-provoking film. Written, directed, and produced by the sister and brother team of Elan and Jonathan Bogarin, the documentary sweeps the viewer through a magical realist journey as the siblings undertake an archeological excavation of their late grandmother’s house. The filmmakers’ interventions become a way for them to deal with the experience of grief and the nature of memory. From her home in New Jersey to ancient Rome, from fashion to physics, this film is a search of what life remains in the objects we leave behind. 306 Hollywood was the first documentary to ever be included in the Sundance Film Festival’s NEXT section where it premiered in 2018 and is the recipient of numerous national and international awards. Runtime is 94 minutes.
