Where do the camps take place?

Art camps for ages 5-11+ years old take place upstairs in the art classrooms at the Oxford Arts Alliance located at 38 S Third St Oxford PA. Our clay camp takes place at Octoraro Art Association located at 5965 Old Forge Rd Oxford PA. Music camps are held at the Oxford Library at 48 S 2nd St Oxford PA and Cecil College at 1 Seahawk Dr North East MD.

Who provides lunch and snacks?

Campers bring their own lunch to camp daily. We can refrigerate lunches but we cannot head them up. We do not provide snacks, but we have two snack breaks during the day, so please pack your child's lunch accordingly. Our camps have a strict NO SHARING policy, so food allergies are accommodated. To be on the safe side, we recommend to pack peanut-free.

Is it ok if we cannot attend a full week of camp?

Yes, but we do not adjust pricing for individual circumstances.

Can I transfer my camp session to a different week?

Yes, if there is room in the camp you'd like to switch to.

Can my camper join their sibling in an older or younger age group?

Yes, but this will be based on individual circumstance and maturity of the camper. The child must be aware and agree to be in a camp with younger or older children and they must be ok with that. The age gap cannot be significant, for example a 5 year old sibling cannot join their 10 year old sibling's camp.

How do you deal with food allergies?

We have a NO SHARING policy for any snacks or lunches for our campers. Parents are encouraged to pack emergency medication if necessary. We clear off tables before eating lunch and wipe them down when needed.

My child has special needs, how will OXAA camps accommodate them?

Although some of our OXAA summer art camp instructors are trained in special needs accommodations, we are not a special needs camp. We ask that you provide any information that will help us to ensure a good experience for your camper on your camper information sheet. Pertaining to physical disabilities, unfortunately our camps are held on the second floor of our building with staircases with no access to an elevator at this time. Our clay camp facility is one level with one step up.

What happens if there is an emergency?

OXAA collects the phone numbers of two emergency contacts of each camper. Each summer art camp instructor has a list of the emergency contacts and people who are allowed to pick up your children. We have basic first aid supplies in our facilities and parents or emergency contact numbers will be contacted if there is an emergency.

Safety first!

We screen all of our summer camp instructors with: PA state background check, FBI fingerprinting procedure, and a child abuse history clearance. All staff and volunteers over 18 years old have all three clearances to be able to work with children. Through our camper information sheet, please provide the names of personnel who are allowed to pick up your children. We have a sign in and sign out sheet requiring signatures as well.

What should we bring to camp?

Messy clothes! No, seriously, art camp is ALL about fun and creativity so PLEASE wear the appropriate attire to GET MESSY! Although we do have smocks and aprons for your campers to wear, it's better to be able to wear clothing that you don't mind getting a little paint on.
