This is the first time we've EVER been able to take our campers OUTSIDE for summer camps! We've decided to embrace this by taking a page out of the Octoraro Art Association's book!

En plein air, or plein air painting, is the act of painting outdoors.

The Octoraro Art Association was formed in 1948 by Charles X. Carlson and Oxford businessman John Roberts. They organized a small group who were interested in painting. The Octoraro Art Association held many plein air painting events for artists and the Old Pine Grove Covered Bridge is a fan-favorite subject.

Campers will enjoy a week of painting outdoors with tempera, acrylic and watercolor paints on surfaces such as paper, canvas, and wood! They'll even use different materials for mark-making. There's many landscape subjects to be inspired by! Your camp instructor will walk you through each painting with instructions along the way.
