Beginner Clay Camp is for the young student with little or no experience in the craft. The daily projects will explore hand building techniques such as slab, pinch, coil and extrusion for the forms, and incorporate texture and underglaze colors for a variety of decorative effects. The potter’s wheel will be introduced at the end of the week. This camp is limited to 8 students. Each camp will run for one week from 1 pm to 4 pm each day. Your child cannot sign up for both Beginner I and Beginner II clay camp. They must take one of either camp. Ceramics is a messy art form. Students who do not like getting dirty will not enjoy this class so please keep that in mind when you discuss this summer camp program as a possibility for your child! The Oxford Arts Alliance reserves the right to dismiss or transfer a student for poor progress and/or attendance or failure to comply with Oxford Arts Alliance policies.
