About the Artist
Susan Ebersole
Susan Ebersole’s abstract paintings synthesize historical and contemporary influences to explore the intersection of space, geometry, and human experience. Her work draws deeply from Romanesque architecture, sacred geometry, and the early Italian painters Duccio, Giotto, and Piero della Francesca, reflecting a lifelong study of form, structure, and light.
Inspired by the writings of Gaston Bachelard and the work of artists such as Hilma af Klint, Piet Mondrian, Sol LeWitt, and James Turrell, Ebersole sees architecture—particularly the house—as both a geometric object and a vessel for emotional and spiritual resonance. Light, in her work, becomes a unifying force, revealing the hidden dimensions of consciousness within architectural space.
After more than four decades in the greater New York City area, Susan Ebersole now lives and paints full-time in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, continuing her journey of visual and philosophical inquiry.
