The Thinking Artist: Perspectives and Proportions in Drawing

Instructor-Led Studio Experience

Refine your eye and strengthen your skills in this four-session figure drawing studio designed for developing artists ready to take their work to the next level.

Understand the Form. Draw with Intention.

Perspective & Still Life Composition
Explore how objects occupy space by drawing still life arrangements — cups, fruit, blocks, plants — and mastering spatial relationships and lighting.

Anatomy Studies & Proportion
Learn the structure of the human body through skeletal and muscular studies using anatomical models. Focus includes:

  • Facial muscles, skull, and cranium

  • Hand, arm, leg, and foot structures

  • Torso: abdomen and back anatomy
Apply this knowledge to accurate and expressive figure drawings.

Realism Studies: Hands & Feet
Master the challenge of drawing hands and feet from multiple angles and in different positions, with a focus on realism and proportion.

Whether you’re preparing a portfolio, strengthening your technique, or simply want to deepen your understanding of form and function — this course is for artists who want to think deeper and draw better.

Dates: Sundays — July 13, 20, 27, & August 3
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Ages: 14 through Adult
